Be fruitful and...
This year we had a few late frosts but not heavy enough to stop the blossom and the bees doing their stuff (go bees!) or the fruit from then setting. The consequence of that, and a later wet patch, was that the garden has reversed every trend of last year and decided that it's time to go forth and multiply. We've have been a little more conservative this year in what we've planted (throwing excess food away doesn't make much sense).

Jan's flower beds are going through great cycles of the different varieties blooming, and only now, just before Christmas, is it showing any signs of becoming a bit ratty. The display through spring has been a delight. It has taken her a lot of weeding to keep it attractive so backaches are regular.

Grey asked if I'd like to take some staff photos. I did and really enjoyed the sessions. We took two days to get everyone and the digital camera meant I could take a lot of variations of size and mood, so everybody found at least one image they were happy with (and sent them to their mothers). Below are Rob, Joh and Ronnie who were my first employee/workmates at Grey Interactive. Snarling Phil is one of Jan's writers that she's nurtured.

We've finished the last case of the Chiverton 1999 Cowra Chardonnay (our everyday drinking favourite for months), I've always wanted to capture that diffracted light spot that dances on the table through the wine, and then it seemed important to catch the distortions through the empty glass. More wine? Well maybe another half a glass.

The sour cherry jam we made last year (all two and a half small pots of it) tastes great and it looks good enough to beat Mrs. Brown in the jam section of the local show, (if we didn't decide to eat it).

And, you can tell it's nearly Christmas when you see reindeer in Bungendore. The first I saw, I thought was a goat. It scuttled across the road in the headlights late one night as I was  coming home from Sydney. These two were grazing at dusk, just outside of Tarago. Apparently there used to be a deer farm locally, but these are just brazen wild ones.

After a glass or two, have you noticed... and then when the glass is empty, how... Bungendore Show award winning sour cherry jam (coulda bin) It's Christmas, so there's reindeer ok?
