Hardware/ Software skills

I trained as a photographer, in Advertising and Illustrative photography so I've used cameras up to 8x10, can develop and print in colour and black and white. I always wanted to make movies so I can confidently handle Super8, 16mm and 35mm movie cameras (eg. Beaulieu, Aaton and Arri 35BL era). I've used video cameras from VHS up to Digital Betacam.

I have edited on flatbeds, Moviola's (remember them?) and Avid, Media 100, FAST non-linear systems. I've used Premiere and ULead Media Studio. I have operated a Quantel Harry and can create a graphic in Paintbox, and used character generators of various sorts. I can create and understand an edit list on most formats.

I've used computers from Tandy TRS80 days, CPM, Apple II, through various incarnations of DOS, Windows and Macintoshes. I use Microsoft Office daily - Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, FrontPage, Project and Publisher. I also use Dreamweaver (for DHTML), Fireworks, Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Visio, Corel Draw and Acrobat.

I can edit a document in Quark and Pagemaker, I can muck around with Flash enough to script actions and edit parameters. Creating a 3D object, a gif animation, use adigital camera, scan and print. My HTML editor of choice is Cold Fusion Studio (Homesite) and I can edit and debug Javascript, understand what's happening on a Cold Fusion page, 'read' an ASP script and build simple apps and can use SQL in database queries.

I use Real Media Producer, Microsoft Media tools and Quicktime to create Streaming Media. I've set up Real Media Servers, Microsoft IIS websites, different FTP servers and I can set up security and networking on Windows and NT. I've managed an Intranet server and a couple of different Mail Servers.

I've installed and managed Ingenico's Online Credit Verification software, including setting up and debugging the hardware for e-commerce. I'm working my way through making all my archives XML enabled and working through some WAP ideas.

I read computer magazines in bed.
